This is a very torn and battered photo from when I was 19, on my first day of being a living statue on the waterfront in Portland, Oregon. I ran out of paint halfway thru getting in costume, and just said *fuck it* and went out anyway. I couldn’t afford to buy new paint. I was a Victorian ghost who handed out white flowers. I made my dress out of my *one* bed sheet (I was poor poor poor) and stood on a bucket to make myself look about 7 feet tall. I made about $50 every evening. I’m so glad I had the courage to do this as a teenager 💛
