We crossed into the border of Lesotho from the Fouriesburg side, drove all the way across Lesotho and exited on the Sani’s Pass side. Halfway through the day we discovered that the border post closes at 6pm! 😲 We had to rush to make it to the border in time, which we did by a very narrow margin. By then it was dark, and we had to drive down the pass in darkness. It sure was a frightening and stressful time! We camped that night on a cattle farm and the tent nearly got blown away!! With us in it!! We were so late arriving at the site, my husband thought it was not necessary to peg the tent to the ground. “It is such a lovely night. There is not a breeze blowing. It will be fine” he said. He swallowed those words when a thunderstorm arrived in the early morning hours! 😜
