Added 2020-08-15 15:27:59 +0000 UTCTo those who aren't aware: I've got a big decision to make by tuesday. Tuesday I have a pre op appointment to discuss moving forward with surgery number 13. I haven't made up my mind yet whether Im ready to move forward or not. Its almost like a lose lose situation for me here. The surgery would be on my left ankle. The point of the surgery would be to try and correct my bones and ligaments so that Im not dislocating my ankle fully both inward and outward as well as my arch. The reasoning is because when I try to walk without my braces I am destroying my body on the inside and risk breaking bones and even more- which would lead to more serious surgeries in the long run. (My ankles are constantly sprained, Im tearing ligaments, muscles, and deteriorating my cartilage, as well as causing bone bruises/ swelling from my bones smacking/ getting stuck when dislocating which will eventually lead to a break just from walking) But an 80% success rate for normal people- is a 50% or less success rate for myself. So it may end up only be a temporary fix, but is it worth it if it slows the process of me destroying my body.. another downside is I have not been able to stand on my right leg by itself in almost 3 years. So I may be wheelchair bound and it could take a long long time to be able to strengthen both my legs back up to allow me to walk. So if I go forward with this I may be down for a while. But Ill do my best to keep you updated and create some content during if I do go forward.. I also have to discuss getting more full leg braces (they are called KAFOs) that are thinner and less bulky so that I can wear some to bed too. But my last ones cost $4k each so Im hoping insurance will be able to cover a new set .. thank you for taking the time to read this long ass boring post I appreciate it
