โจ Hello, everyone! โจ
Today, I come to you with an open heart to share an unexpected and incredibly important moment in my life. Many of you have been following my journey as a trans woman, full of challenges, but also many victories. But my biggest challenge, and also my greatest motivation, are my daughters. I am a single mother, and I am everything to them โ my reason to live, to fight, to never give up. My greatest joy is watching them grow and knowing that, even in difficult times, I can be the mother they need.
For some time, Iโve been waiting for my gender affirmation surgery, which was scheduled for next year. However, I just found out that the surgery has been moved up to December 12th. An opportunity opened up unexpectedly, and my doctor informed me that a spot had come available on the waiting list. It was a unique chance that I couldnโt let pass, but itโs also a moment that caught me completely unprepared, financially.
Iโve always dreamed of this surgery, but the truth is, as a single mother without any financial help, my resources are limited. On top of that, with the recovery period, I will be unable to work for several weeks, and as you all know, in the United States, if you donโt work, you donโt earn. As much as I work hard every day to provide a good life for my daughters, this recovery period will be a huge challenge for us because I donโt have the financial support needed to get through it peacefully.
Thatโs why Iโm asking for your help. Not just for the surgery itself โ which is covered by my insurance โ but for all the indirect costs that come with the recovery period: medications, doctorโs visits, transportation, adjustments in the home to make sure the girls and I will be comfortable and safe, and anything else Iโll need to recover and continue being the best mother I can be. Without your help, it will be extremely difficult to get through this time without constant worry.
These weeks of recovery will be an opportunity for me to transform, not just physically, but also internally. It will be a new beginning, not only for me but also for my daughters, who will be by my side throughout this process. But I canโt do it alone, and thatโs why I need you now.
Any contribution you can make, whether financially or by helping to share this campaign, will make a huge difference in my life and in my daughtersโ lives. I am the only one who cares for them, and I know that with your support, Iโll be able to focus on my recovery and be the best version of myself for them.
This is a crucial moment for me and my family. I know that this surgery is an important step for my well-being, but also for ensuring that I can be the mother my daughters deserve. With your help, I will be able to focus on my recovery and become the best version of myself for them.
